Void items, or make a bill complimentary
Take something off a bill the kitchen already has, or let a whole bill go without payment — each is recorded with a reason.
Void
- Tap Void in the order panel.
- Choose Void Entire Order or a single line, and pick the reason.
- A manager enters their PIN — or taps their staff card in the Android app — to authorise.
- The kitchen gets a CANCELLED slip; the void appears in Manager → Void & Discount and on the Z-Report — there for information only: a voided item left the bill before payment, so it is not taken off Net Sales.
The X on a line the kitchen already has does the same for that one line (Cancel item, with a manager's approval). A line not yet sent is simply removed. Lowering a sent line's quantity needs no PIN but is logged as reduced after sending; a line already served needs Void and a manager's PIN.
A waiter on the waiter phone, or the kitchen, can take a sent line off on their own name; cancelling a whole order that way, line by line, needs a manager.
Both need a connection. Offline, a waiter's or the kitchen's own cancel says Cancelling a line the kitchen already has needs a connection, so the kitchen and the till hear about it. No manager's PIN is needed. Reconnect, then try again. A void that needs a manager's PIN says Voids and discounts need a connection: the manager's PIN is checked on the server. Reconnect, then try again.
Complimentary
Complimentary is a tender for the whole bill: tap MORE → Complimentary, choose the reason (Manager Comp, Service Recovery, Staff Meal, Marketing / VIP or Other) and confirm. No money is collected and the bill is reported as complimentary. For a single dish, void that line or give a fixed-amount discount instead.
Cancelling an order you never sent needs no approval — Void is for what the kitchen already has.
