Manage devices and the device limit
Your licence caps how many terminals can register. Here's how to manage them.
- Open Admin → System Settings → Devices to see each terminal, when it was last seen, who used it and whether it has unsent changes.
- To add a terminal, show the code from Add another terminal on the new device's first screen — it registers when staff sign in.
- To free a place, Revoke a retired terminal. Restore brings one back when a place is free. A revoked terminal you will not use again can be taken off the list with Remove: it stays revoked and its record is kept for audit.
A web browser connected with a setup code says so on its Devices card — This browser is connected to … with a setup code. — with Disconnect this browser, which makes that browser forget the restaurant and signs everyone out there; nothing is deleted on the server.
A terminal over the limit still signs in — so an admin can sign in on it and free a place — but it takes no new orders: a red banner says This terminal is over the restaurant's device limit - it cannot take new orders. until a place is freed or IBEX raises the limit; then tap Try again on it. Nothing it holds is lost.
Revoke a lost or stolen tablet at once — it is refused at its next sale. Let a working terminal send its unsent changes before you revoke it.
