Moving to a new server or machine

How an outlet's data moves to a new server or computer.

Moving a restaurant's data — to a new server, or between database engines — is done by IBEX Support with a backup and restore, and checked before you go live.

  1. Agree a time with IBEX Support, outside trading hours.
  2. Let every terminal send its unsent changes (the count reaches zero).
  3. After the move, sign in on each terminal and check that recent bills and the menu are there.

Replacing a till or tablet needs no migration — see re-register or replace a device.
