Enter your tax number and VAT/GST settings
Register your tax identity so every invoice is compliant from day one.
- Open Admin → System Settings → Restaurant Info and enter your tax registration number — TRN in the UAE, VAT number in Saudi Arabia, GSTIN in India. It prints on every tax invoice.
- In the Tax & Currency card, check the country, the tax name and the rate. They come from the country chosen in setup (for example 5% VAT in the UAE, fixed; 15% in Saudi Arabia); change the rate only if your registration says otherwise.
- Choose whether your menu prices include VAT (Prices include VAT).
- In the UAE (Dubai), also set the municipality fee — see the municipality fee.
- Press Save Changes.
For items taxed differently, use tax groups — see configure VAT and tax groups. Indian restaurants also complete their GST details under Admin → E-Invoicing.
- India says GST everywhere — the till and cart, receipts, the Manager's Live, X and End of Day screens, Admin's settings, reports, purchases and expenses, exports and All branches. A restaurant with its own tax name sees that name.
- A GST rate of 0% is flagged in Tax & Currency: The GST rate is 0%, so bills charge no GST. Enter the rate your GST registration uses (5% for most restaurants).
- Changing the country applies the new country's standard rate, unless you type a different rate in the same save.
Note
The country and the currency lock once the restaurant has taken sales; ask IBEX Support if either must change.
Important
A tax invoice without a valid tax registration number is not compliant. If you are tax-registered, enter it before you start trading.
