Sign in with a PIN, card or fingerprint

IBEX signs staff in with a role and PIN, an NFC staff card, or, on your own device, a fingerprint or quick PIN.

Sign in with a PIN

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap your role tile — Cashier, Manager, Admin… Only the roles your restaurant has are shown.
  2. Enter your four-digit PIN on the keypad.
  3. Tap the surface you need from the cards your role can open.

Sign in with a staff card

In the Android app, hold your enrolled staff card against the tablet's NFC reader (usually the middle of the back) for about a second. Card sign-in works only in the Android app and only with staff cards enrolled in Admin — bank cards and phone wallets never work.

Quick sign-in on your own device

The POS app offers to set up quick sign-in. Next time, tap your name on the sign-in screen and use your fingerprint or a short personal quick PIN — it works only on that device, and only for you.

Sign out on all devices

Beside the sign-out button on the home screen (where you pick a card after signing in), Sign out on all devices signs you out of every device where you are signed in — this one too — once you confirm. Each other device goes back to the sign-in screen at its next action, saying You were signed out on all devices. Sign in again. Your PIN stays the same: sign in again with it. A PIN change or reset signs a person out with its own message instead: Your PIN was changed, so you have been signed out on this device. Sign in with the new PIN.

Important

Offline, a terminal signs in only the staff it already knows, and keeps accepting an old PIN until it next syncs — connect it briefly to pick up a PIN change. After too many wrong PINs, sign-in pauses for a short while and says “too many attempts”.
