86 an item / manage availability
Take an item off sale when the kitchen runs out, and put it back just as fast.
- In Admin → Menu Management, switch the item's Available in POS off (“86”). On the till, a manager — or a cashier, if allowed — does the same from Edit Menu.
- The item shows as unavailable on every till, the waiter's phone and the website once they sync, and can't be ordered.
- Switch it back on when stock returns.
Tip
Cashiers see Edit Menu only when Allow Cashier Menu Editing is on under Admin → System Settings → Hardware & Printing.
Note
Availability is a live status shared across all terminals; it isn't the same as removing the item, which is done in the menu editor.
