Printer Targets and test prints

The one place that decides what prints where.

Updated 30 Sep 2026Hardware & Devices

Admin → System Settings → Printer Targets lists every printer with its role — Receipt, or Kitchen with the station it serves (or all stations) — and its copies, channels, cash drawer and fallback printer. Below it:

  • Print Areas — your kitchen stations, shared by the printers, the menu's routing and the kitchen screen's tabs.
  • Print Rules — optional extra routing by print area or table section. With no rules, plain printer routing applies.
  • Printer Health — each printer's last print and failures in a row.
  1. Add each printer and give it a role.
  2. Tap Test on each one.
  3. Test again after any network or printer change.
Note

Every printer prints at the restaurant's default Receipt Width (Hardware & Printing) unless a till or kitchen screen has set its own paper width. There is no printer-port setting: each printer is reached at its own address.

Tip

When printing “breaks”, start here — a test print tells you at once whether it's the setup or the printer.
