Take a card payment
Record a card sale taken on your own card machine.
- Choose CARD on the payment screen.
- Charge the card on your restaurant's card machine as usual.
- Type the approval code from the machine's slip into Approval Code (Optional), then tap Confirm Payment.
IBEX does not drive your card machine: no real card-machine or payment-gateway connector exists yet, so the till does not send the amount to the machine. IBEX builds a connector for a named provider once your restaurant chooses one and the provider's credentials are available.
The Simulator under Admin → System Settings → Payment Gateways → Card Terminal (POS) lets staff practise the card flow on screen — its approvals are simulated and are not real card sales. It is offered only on IBEX test and demo systems, so a pretend card sale can never reach a restaurant's real takings; its approval codes start with SIM-. The payment gateways listed on that card power your website's Pay online only, never the till.
If the machine declines, nothing is recorded on the till — try again or take another tender. See card declined.
