Hold dishes and fire them later
Send the starters now and hold the mains until the table is ready.
- On the till, before sending, tap the pause icon on each dish you want to hold (Hold item).
- Send the order. Held dishes reach the kitchen marked Held — not to cook yet — and the kitchen ticket lists them as on hold.
- When the table is ready, tap Fire Held Items (or the line's own icon, Fire item to kitchen). The kitchen timer starts from the fire.
Note
Holding works dish by dish — there is no separate course grouping. A ticket whose every dish is held shows Waiting for fire.
Important
Don't confuse this with Hold on the whole bill: holding a bill that was already sent pauses the kitchen for that table's food.
